KATE (Andrews McConnell): Immensely talented, steadfast, smart and hard-working. The one who has had the most difficult task at Asiatica. Decide which fabric should make which garment using technical and aesthetic expertise. Managing production, dealing kindly and firmly with staff and customers (and boss). No one could do it better!
KYOTO: The old capital of Japan. Home to thousands of temples, gardens and beautiful places.

KATHERINE (Kaufman): Our bookkeeper, office manager, fixer and "mother" for almost 30 years. Reliable, thorough and champion baker, pie maker and mentor.
KANSAS CITY: Where we live and work. Unlikely headquarters according to coastal residents, but a wonderful place to work and live. The stupendous Asian art collection at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (and its Curator) was what lured Elizabeth here.
KANIMANJI (Buddha): Magnificent huge bronze Buddha often overlooked, but important to know. Accessible from Kyoto.
KOIE (Ryoji): Wonderful potter from Tokoname whose work we have in our special closet.
KATSURA (Rikyu): Must visit 17th century Kyoto Imperial Villa. Iconic architecture, magnificent grounds. Timeless.
