Ohgita Katsuya
Ohgita Katsuya's glass works renew the viewer's awareness of the existence of light. The works are created through the fusion of the Japanese aesthetic—simple forms from which superfluous decoration has been eliminated but possessing adequate coloring—with the cold cast technique that was developed by ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia.
"I hope that the surface of the simple forms of the glass, become one with the light that resides within, making the viewer realize afresh the existence of light." — Ohgita Katsuya
