Kaname Higa was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1972. Higa is a self taught artist, whose jewelry, objects and drawings are reflections of interstellar worlds that evoke the nostalgia of the future and the past. Also known as Turtle Forest, Higa’s sculptural works are intricate - comprised of tiny elements which manifest themselves in creature-like, jeweled forms. Higa currently lives and works in New York.
