D IS FOR...

DESIGN

Design and designers who inspired us; Issey Miyake who used the fabric as a template for shapes. and made clothes for everyone with the same inventive and original point of view of what a garment is.

Yohji Yamamoto who also made timeless shapes for any body.

DRESSES

Dresses of all kinds which make it easy to get dressed. No further thinking required except for shoes and accessories.

DISTRIBUTION

Which Asiatica never had. We have been the designers, makers and distributors. No wholesale since Bergdorf's 25 years ago. Trunkshows, telephone and website are our connection to our customers.

DO LE

Who has been the anchor of our manufacturing. She sews, she cuts, she makes fabric, she is always in good humor, tackles any project that comes her way and has been doing so for more than 30 years.

We could never make anything without her.

DINNER PARTIES & DISHES

Give us the excuse to dress ourselves, our houses and our tables. We need dishes and vases and pillows and nice objects and furniture and napkins and glassware and DELICIOUS FOOD.

DE-CONSTRUCTION

De-construction of kimono gives us access to all the rare materials we have been using since the beginning. Every original kimono, haori or obi has been sewn by hand and taking them apart reminds us of the painstaking work of making a fine Japanese garment.
