Every year when I am in Japan I am overwhelmed by the quantity, variety and availability of books and magazines, not to mention the beauty
of Japanese bookstores. Tsutaya. I fantasize about buying a few suitcases full of the most graphically appealing and then I find
it too difficult to make the necessary choices.
But there is a small group of special books — unavailable elsewhere in America — that I find especially appealing. They are beautiful, quirky
in subject matter, not expensive, and they perfectly reflect Japan. So I found a company with an appealing assortment and ordered
a few titles. Here they are. They make the perfect present and do not take up much room on the coffee table or the bookshelf.
