Shopping in Japan

Actually I came to Japan to go shopping! All the rest of my activities merely embellish and enrich the experience.

My primary search is for textiles from which to make clothes for you all. This means hunting for rare vintage kimono which pass my aesthetic tests: feel good, look good. It also means looking for special contemporary fabrics from artisanal companies like Nuno.

Japanese traditional clothing is all about fabric, so there is a sophisticated underlying culture regarding it. Asiatica tries to meld that vision with wearable Western styles.

As for styles, I am also here to learn new fashion ideas , since Japanese designers think differently about the relationship between bodies and clothing. I have bought about 4 items of clothing to inspire our next collection.  You will have to wait and see what results.
